Fifth Project Proposal

 It is my intention to not only design a flyer for an event that the Community Table is going to have in April but, also make a recipe booklet that could be handed out to the community who came in to receive meals. To make the book cost effective and cheap there could be a donation fund for those specific books and the design on of the book could be small to cut some printing costs. The booklet would contain easy recipes that can be made even on the most meager of budgets with healthy alternatives. Such as growing they're own garden in their yard or home so that they could have cheap/free produce. Other options in the book would be quick recipes or crock pot recipes for parents or people who have no time to make an elaborate meal for their family.

My Communication Goals for the Community Table of Jackson County

The communication goals of the logo are:
·       To represent Jackson County’s Community Table
·       To represent the generosity of the Community Table
·       To be illustrative and unique
·       To represent a new age of the Community Table
·       To entice people to not only want to help the Community Table with donations, but volunteer their time as well

I want my viewers to:
·       Look at the new logo and be curious about the current state of the Community Table
·       Wonder if it’s the same Community Table that’s been around since 1999
·       Find the logo more homey and modern
·       Appreciate the Community Table’s progression into the 21st century with it’s design and look

The communication goals of the poster are:
·       To help educate the community about the Community Table
·       To help the community know that they do need volunteers and donations
·       To help the community know that donations are always welcomed, be it money or their time
·       To help the community understand that there are families or individuals who are hungry in the county who need their help
·       To generate knowledge for the community about what is happening socially and economically with those in need: are there more? are there less? Etc.

I want my viewers to:
·       See visual statistics that are “there” but aren’t putting them on a guilt trip
·       Appreciate the modern design and playful/warm colors that ooze hominess
·       Be inspired to help the cause
·       Donate canned goods, time, and their warm hearts for those in need
·       Participate in fundraisers that the Community Table hosts

The communication goals of the brochure are:
·       To inform the community members of all the different programs that the Community Table has created
·       To supply information about the Food for Kids program and  the organic garden that the community can be apart of
·       To contain information about volunteering
·       To contain a brief history about the Community Table
·       To supply directions to the Community Table

I want my viewers to:
·       Drink up the information with lovely graphics and typography
·       Have straight forward text that leads them to more information about volunteering and donating
·       Learn more about the people who’ve come to the Community Table for assistance


The communication goals of the website are:
·       To look warm and inviting
·       NOT to rehash everything that’s in the brochure
·       Provide some information, but just enough so they have to call, email, or visit the Community Table
·        Provide a list of all the needed items as a list on the site, not a pdf
·        Provide a link to more information about the garden with photos and what type of produce they grown
·       Provide an interactive experience that gets people excited
·       Provide a news page for daily/weekly/monthly updates about events
· To contain information about volunteering
· Learn more about the people who come to the Community Table for assistance
· Provide a menu page that contains that week's planned meals 

I want my viewers to:
·       Get passionate and get interested
·       Be more informed about what goes into volunteering and donating their time/money/goods
·       Have access to pictures and information about the families they’ve been helping since 1999

The communication goals of the recipe booklet are:
·       Supplying easy, cheap recipes
·       Have helpful tips about home gardening so that they can supply their own produce instead of buying
·       Photos to show what the final outcome of the recipe is supposed to be
·       Nutrition value of the meals
·       Alternatives that they can buy at the grocery stores in Sylva that don’t contain harsh chemicals or HFC’s

I want my viewers to:
·       Be more than satiated with the supplied information
·       Find the booklet helpful with everyday living
·       Make it known that there are alternatives to healthy eating even on the smallest of budgets
